Robin woke up early in our quiet mooring and spent a long time watching a kingfisher sitting on a branch and diving into the canal to wash itself. Unfortunately our camera is not great for wildlife but here he is...
Heavy rain was predicted for the middle of the day so we stayed put and hoovered the boat. Once the rain stopped we headed off and the sun actually came out. It was even warm in places! This canal is lovely and the sun brought out the colour in the grass fields and fresh leaves on the trees.

| Blue skies and glowing fields. |
The canal continues to be very straight so we could see bridges within bridges.
The Cowley tunnel is at the end of a long and deep cutting hewn out of solid rock. The tunnel has no bricks lining it, just the red rock where it has been cut.

We were aiming for Norton Junction, where there is a pub and facilities. We got there to find the remains of a boat market and a beer festival in progress. With boats and people everywhere and nowhere to moor, we binned our rubbish and made a run for it.
We are heading north west, and to the west we could see intriguing hills in the distance.

| A lovely view. |
We found a mooring just after this unusual bridge.
 |
| High Bridge, as it is imaginatively called! |
We managed to moor and take Scooby for a walk before the rain came back. Oh well!
