A cloudy start, brightening gradually into a lovely sunny evening. We went past this wharf with attached enormous factory which sent chocolate products down to Bournville by narrowboat until 1961. Now the factory makes Birds Custard, Angel Delight and Marvel dried milk amongst other things, but sadly sends them out by road.
We have seen a number of herons on this canal. Its nice to have them back after many heron free weeks!
The mysterious hill is still in view. We seem to be skirting around it, albeit at some distance.
We stopped about 3.30pm at Goldstone Wharf moorings. The nearest village is the rather wonderfully named Cheswardine. The sun came and there was walking and paddle-boarding to make the most of it.

Market Drayton tomorrow to post our postal votes for the local elections and buy milk. Apparently its the home of gingerbread, so that's something to look forward to :)
