14 miles and 5 locks
The carnival at Abingdon continued into the evening. We were treated to a live concert (just beyond the trees on the other side of the river) followed by a firework display.
In the morning we woke to news of the London Bridge terrorist attack. Having established London son and friends were safe, we set off down river again.

| Much of the cruise was like this today - green! |
We passed many a riverside hovel....
We also saw quite a few other boats, including some very large posh things. The lock-keeper at Clifton Hampton managed to fit four very different shaped boats in his lock.
There is not as much wildlife evident as we might have expected and it doesn't seem to smell so interesting - Scooby hasn't had his head over the sides nearly as much as usual. However, there were lots of Red Kites, often wheeling right over our heads.
At about 3.30 we arrived at Wallingford and found a mooring opposite
The Boat House.

We are in South Oxfordshire now and it all remains very prosperous. The town is very pretty with lots of Saxon and medieval buildings. It has been a place to cross the Thames, by ford then bridge, for time immemorial.
