Interesting weather ending with rainbows

8.5 miles and 8 locks

It was a breezy start; hot in the sun but with a cold wind. The water levels continued to be low and there were queues at the locks. It all took a while but was a pleasant way to pass the time. This lock cottage is at the top of the Claydon flight of locks and we admire it every time we pass. It always looks only half lived in and apparently has changed hands many times. Its absolutely beautiful but... has no electricity, gas or phone connections, no road access and is bounded by canal to one side and cow fields to the rest!

We stopped at the top of the locks to take Scoobs out. Behind us the clouds loomed a bit but we decided to go on. After that there were no more locks but lots of weather!

The captain got wet several times. Scooby hid in the bathroom when the thunder started. The countryside was lovely between showers.

Robin was heading for a favourite mooring spot where you can look over to Napton. We moored just before 5 o'clock and walked a somewhat recovered Scooby before the next shower came along.
