After a wet night, it turned out to be a lovely day. Scooby started the day as he ended yesterday, in a state of neurosis but did perk up. He spent the rest of the day with his nose poking over the dodger sniffing the world as it went past. We stopped in Banbury for some essential supplies and lunch. It was empty when we arrived but filled up fast. Robin took a liking to a brown Labrador puppy who went past.
The afternoon was sunny with a stiff breeze, causing some crabwise steering by the captain. We met a boat coming the other way at every lock, being able to just sweep straight into most of them.
After a very pleasant and uneventful day, we moored in Cropredy about 5 o'clock and sat on the back in the sun watching the sparrows in the hedgerow. The route march continues tomorrow. Tough times!
